Many people follow different diet methods. Recently, we have been hearing about a diet method called intermittent fasting. An intermittent diet is one day a week, two days, or sometimes just a certain amount of water and fruit juice.
“If you want to follow any type of intermittent diet, you must consult an expert nutritionist”
For example, drinking water or sugar-free fruit juice one day a week and eating normal food six days a week. This diet can be done in different ways. Such diets are becoming quite popular. Here are some examples:
16-8 hours Method
You have to fast for 16 hours out of 24 hours and you have to eat within the remaining 6 hours. Suppose you eat from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon, the rest of the time, that is, from four to eight in the morning the next day. Eat three to four meals a day. In that case, you must keep a calorie account.
24-hour method
One or two days a week can be fasted in this way. One day after dinner you have to eat dinner at the same time the next day. Only water and fruit juice should be drunk for 24 hours in between, so that blood sugar remains normal and dehydration does not occur.
5: 2 Method
In this method, you have to eat 500 to 600 calories two days a week. The remaining five days will be to eat normal food.
Benefits of intermittent fasting
Intermittent fasting helps in weight loss, regulates blood sugar levels and helps in metabolism, helps in normalizing high cholesterol, reduces free-radicals, and helps in anti-aging, research says.
Not for those intermittent fasting
Pregnant, lactating mothers who want to have children, who have a lot of gastric problems, who weigh less than normal, who are under the age of 18, should not follow such a diet. In addition, if you have uncontrolled diabetes, insulin users, kidney, liver or heart disease, you must consult a doctor.
Intermittent fasting should include protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, lean chicken, and plenty of water. Because each person’s metabolism is different, this method may not work equally well for everyone. You can have tea, coffee, water, saline, medicine during intermittent fasting. Remember, any type of intermittent diet must consult an expert nutritionist.
